This presentation shows what it is like working with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like JBehave, Cucumber or Concordian. It proposes an effective alternative solution for BDD which is ‘Spock’ – a convenient, lightweight framework, based on the Groovy language.
‘To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.’ Just like the crew of the Starship Enterprise, we explore the IT universe – seeking out new solutions, new technologies, and frameworks – from which we can learn to help us work better and more efficiently. We do this to create more functional and usable software for our customers, to put a big smile on their faces, and maybe – if we do our job really well – to make them stand back and admire what we have crafted. Tomasz was lucky enough to work in BDD (Behavior Driven Development) quite early in his career, but he also had the misfortune to see how this great idea so often tends to fail.
