It is becoming more and more challenging to test mobile apps on different devices, with different screen sizes, running different operating systems. During the development of a mobile app, we can easily verify and test the app on a mobile simulator or emulator.
However, testing mobile apps only with a simulator or an emulator is not enough, you need to make sure that your mobile app works on devices that your users carry with them in their pocket. Creating an in-house Automation Mobile Lab will be a good decision if you are looking to do automated mobile testing, for example with open source testing tools like Selenium and Appium. In 2019, the presenter’s organization started its journey of creating a scalable automation mobile device lab which allows running more than 2000 Appium tests on a daily basis. During this talk, he shares the experience that he gained during this long journey of creating our Scalable Automation Device Lab and the solution that allows to easily integrate it with CI tools.
